Rad Life
A year ago I had the pleasure of hearing John O’ Leary speak at a conference I attended in Cleveland, Ohio.
It was riveting.
Expected to die, John now teaches others how to truly live.
At the conclusion, conference attendees were given John’s book he had written titled “On Fire, The 7 Choices to Ignite a Radically Inspired Life.”
I think I read almost the entire book during that five hour flight from Cleveland to Los Angeles where at times tears were streaming down my face.
I’ve gotten into the habit when reading to label things I want to keep fresh in my mind with a red heart. It’s my little way of saying, “hey, this was important to you and you better not forget it.”
Recently, I picked his book back up and revisited every one of my red hearts. There were 64 of them and each one was just as important to me today as it was a year ago.
Below are a few of my “red hearts” that I hope will inspire you at some point along your journey of truly living a rad life:
A radically inspired life means you possess the ability to learn from past mistakes, rise above personal challenges, and thrive in life, no matter your circumstances.
As individuals, we hold the power to choose our path forward. We may not control everything that happens to us, but we always control how we respond.
The first choice you must make to ignite a radically inspired life is to own your life. It is to leave entitlement behind and realize that it is up to you to make the changes in your life.
Erase “It’s not my fault” from your vocabulary and instead say, “It’s my life and I’m responsible for it.”
Living life on fire means you aren’t afraid to know and own your story; you celebrate the scars you’ve accumulated along the way, and you are ready and willing to live life honestly.
To live a radically inspired life, you must choose to go All In each day with a purpose greater than yourself.
Everything we do matters. Our lives are sacred. There are no small players. There are no small tasks.
